Did you throw that take out as bait on Twitter? If so, it was masterfully done. Having a hot take that's actually defendable is a pretty good trap to spring!
Him being injury prone was a take from 2021 and it was more like was and currently is not back 100% and may never be. Idk, about that first table though. Several players weren't on the Chiefs this year, but Thornhill was. You may be right, but I think the thing to do would be to see games played the first 4 years of safeties' (or all secondary players') careers.
The argument that he provides a unique skill that the other safeties on the roster don't have is the best argument for him. Chiefs (and the league) don't play much single high safety anymore, but it would be nice to be able to do it well because it's rare.
Didn't throw it out for bait I swear. It was just a comment on the Chiefs expected roster turnover. But then I got replies from it and was sort of surprised because I figured people though Thornhill was good.
Fair point on the snap count one, and one I thought of. Thornhill has been on the roster for awhile so there is survivorship bias here. But that is also why I went as far back to 2015 because it gave the same sort of +/- 4 year span from his rookie year, and he still was near the top.
So Hopkins is a Chief and they resign Thornhill or Thornhill signs in Arizona with no Hopkins trade??
